Poet, performer, curator, activist, and author of over fifty books of poetry, Anne Waldman’s most recent books are TRICKSTER FEMINISM from Penguin 2018, SANCTUARY from Spuyten Duyvil, 2020 and forthcoming BARD, KINETIC, Coffee House Press, 2021. Her new vinyl SCIAMACHY includes William Parker, Laurie Anderson, Deb Googe, and Ambrose Bye, produced by Devin Brahja Waldman and Fast Speaking Music, with support from the Levy Gorvy Gallery.

She is the recipient of a Guggenheim, the Shelley Prize, and American Book Award from the Before Columbus Foundation for long-life achievement. A founder and former Director of The Poetry Project, she also cofounded the Jack Kerouac School with Allen Ginsberg at Naropa University. She curated the Voz Alta poetry performance festival at Casa del Lago in Mexico City and was the Keynote speaker at the Jaipur Literature Festival, in India. She travels around the world performing and lecturing. ARTAUD IN THE BLACK LODGE with libretto by Waldman and music by David T. Little will have its premiere at the Philadelphia Opera in 2021.
