Music by Gabriel Walker
Jeanette R. K. E. H. Aslaksen is a poet, pedagogue and native speaker of the Northern Sámi language spoken in Norway/Finland/Sweden. She has a Master’s degree in Pedagogy and works as an Advisor in digital learning. In 2007 she published her first poetry collection, Mu klišea. A youthful poetry collection that reflects on being a young Sámi. The texts are predominantly in Northern Sámi mixed with some texts in Norwegian and English.
She wants to illustrate that she as a Sámi has grown up thinking in three different languages. The poems are about being young in the face of life. Thus encounters of love, sadness, anger, boredom, daydreams and gossip. Through the poems, the book will tell the story of a person. She has since 2007 published newer poems in other anthology collections.
